Hongdae Orange Guesthouse is located just a 5-minute walk from the popular Hongdae Street and offers simple complimentary breakfast of toast and coffee along with private and dormitory rooms.

Each air-conditioned and heated rooms include bunk beds and private lockers. Towel and linen are provided for every guest. Bathroom and toilet are shared. Guests are free to use the shared lounge and kitchen areas as well as the terrace at Guesthouse Hongdae Orange.

Such a good location near Hongdae and Hapjeong Station, and...

Such a good location near Hongdae and Hapjeong Station, and the owner (Mr. Kim?) is nice. Had a nice, home-y feel to it.

Too few bathrooms/showers for the amount of people that stay at the hostel. Also water pressure wasn't great if too many people were using the bathroom at the same time.

I really enjoyed it

Great location and the bed was totally fine. There was an AC in the room as well as floor heating. There was no sheet though so I will bring a sheet next time I come. I'll definitely come back because the location and the price.

The only problem was that there sometimes was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and there were no ersonal slippers. Only a pair of slippers in the bathroom. I will bring slippers next time I stay here.

The location of the hostel is nice, it is closed to the metro station.

The hostel is untidy and dusty. There was no hot water provided for bathing. The receptionist was not always here. The breakfast was of very limited choice (only bread, jam and orange juice).

Very good value for money if you just need a place to stay in Hongdae

Had a comfortable stay each night, very convenient location with only a short walk to the centre of Hongdae.

Downstairs bathroom is very small. Also note that toilets cannot flush toilet paper so you need to put them in a bin.

Pretty decent location.

Pretty decent location. Near to a bus stop and all the convenient stores malls etc were nearby. Liked the homey atmosphere in and out. The beds and rooms were clean. Nice view from gym like balcony.

Poor maintenance. Walls were torn down with old posters and maps everywhere. Kitchen had no proper utensils. Fur from the cat downstairs was flying all over the lobby. Miserable. Beyond all low water pressure was insanely annoying while taking shower. Good luck to upstairs guests. Not friendly dog. Beware of it.

What was the highlight of Hongdae Orange Guesthouse

Great location, charming hosts, cold house

Just like all the other reviews, the host and owner is very warm and welcoming. There is a huge adorable cat in the house and an even bigger dog outside the property - its amazing, like seeing a wolf! They also have luggage storage where you can stow your bags for free after checking out which is a huge plus for me. And its near exit 1 of Hongik Univ station about 5 to 10 mins depending on your pace. There is also a bus stop right on the corner of the highway for the airport limousine bus, which is truly a more convenient way to get to the airport especially if you have large luggage and bags.

We stayed here for one night only for our last day in Seoul. We booked the double room on the first floor and while convenient, the walls were thin and poorly insulated. It makes a noise every time we open the door. Blackout curtains look like it had been there for ages looking at the cobwebs in them. It was a very cold April night so you can imagine me from the tropics just miserable in the cold room. There was floor heating but due to poor insulation it just didnt work well. Maybe the other rooms upstairs are better glancing at all the other glowing reviews (which is the main reason i booked). Not a criticism but more of a realistic comment - - its a converted old house so if thats going to be an issue, you might be better off with alternatives.

Good for a budget!

This was one of the cheapest places we could find in Hongdae. I liked the location a lot. Our room had heated floors which was really nice (we were there in February).

The bathrooms and kitchen could have been cleaner but for a traveler on a budget it was fine!

The guesthouse is a big house with rooms repurposed into dorms, private rooms and plenty of shower rooms (4 or 5). The owner, Mr Kim, was very friendly whenever we crossed paths although I didn't so much time out of the hostel that I didn't see him much. The dorm room had underfloor heating so it was nice and warm even though it was freezing outside. Breakfast is simple toast with jam which is fine and still appreciated but the price for the room is great anyway and really close to convenience stores and everything you want to see in hongdae. There is a cute ginger cat along with two dogs outside the front of the building. One is huge like a bear-wolf but I loved him to pieces. I wanted to come back to this hostel just to see more of the dogs.

The dorm beds didn't have any bedsheets so it felt unhygienic to sleep directly on the mattress. I have a sleeping bag liner with me so I slept in that to separate myself from the actual mattress and duvet. However, I did see Mr Kim taking duvets and pillows out of the room and replacing them between check out and in times so he must have his own laundry routine for this which isn't obvious at first glance at the room.

A good location to look around Hongdae and other main places in Seoul. Everyday clean towers were provided. Some bread and orange juice were served for breakfast. The price was very affordable! I enjoyed my stay. Thanks a lot.
